We are incredibly grateful for the over 50 people who assisted us over the past five weeks to build tables – specifically kitchen tables – to be part of the home furnishings we deliver to those we serve this holiday season. Along with the creation of over 120 kitchen tables (WOW!) we also received numerous donations of place settings and many of you also volunteered to participate in deliveries to help us furnish the homes of those we serve.
The importance of a kitchen table for a family to gather around becomes even more apparent during the holidays, when shared meals are a source of celebration, connection and strength for families. For those we serve, it is often the case that meals are eaten on the floor for lack of furnishings as they struggle to meet other critical needs.
The generosity of each and every volunteer who shared their time, talents and enthusiasm with us these past five weeks by helping to build tables has been inspiring! We are immensely grateful. We will continue to do our table build sessions at least twice a month, and for those of you that have never participated (or would like to come back!) we will be building additional items, including coffee tables, a new cubby we have been working on, and a dresser/shelving unit.

…and thank you!
