Frequently Asked Questions

New Life Furniture Thrift Store significantly expands the reach of New Life Furniture Bank, allowing the organization to support more people in its mission to turn empty houses into homes for those starting over from difficult situations. The thrift store will serve as a permanent fundraiser for the furniture bank to keep operations running smoothly and support financial sustainability.

The thrift store will operate as a retail store where shoppers in need of affordable home furnishings (or seeking a hidden treasure) can find a large, carefully curated selection of items. The furniture bank will continue to operate as a program that partners directly with social service agencies to help individuals who are starting over in permanent, stable housing turn their house into a home.

New Life Furniture Thrift Store is the region’s only home furnishings-focused thrift store, providing a highly curated shopping experience for both treasure hunters and need-based shoppers alike, and providing more opportunities than ever for local communities to support this charitable work by donating furniture and home decor in every size and shape, as well as appliances, exercise equipment, clothing and other items.

All donations received will be sorted and directed to the store or the bank based on inventory, best use, and program fit. Donations cannot be designated for one or the other. New Life Furniture Bank reserves the right to determine how best to serve the mission with donated items.

Donations can be dropped off at the furniture bank in Blue Ash (11335 Reed Hartman Highway, Suite 134, Blue Ash, OH 45241) or the thrift store in Sharonville (12037 Lebanon Road, Sharonville, Ohio 45241). Additionally, you can request a pick up of items by scheduling online.

With few exceptions, you can donate any home furnishings and décor that’s clean, functional and worthy of a new home. Whether you wish to donate a single desk or a whole house of furniture, New Life Furniture Thrift Store makes it possible to give easily and with a purpose.

There are some items that we can not accept like waterbeds, hospital beds, firearms, liquids, broken/inoperable appliances, pianos or organs, and building materials. We also cannot accept items that are stained, dirty, ripped, torn, or with excessive pet hair. For a complete list of items, visit our homepage.

There are many ways to get involved, even if you can’t donate right now.

  1. You can volunteer your time and help us sort or assemble furniture for the furniture bank or the thrift store.
  2. You can make a monetary donation. It’s tax deductible, and helps support everything from our warehouse to our truck deliveries, making it possible for us to help more families furnish their homes.
  3. You can help organize a furniture drive. Email Connie Stalf at [email protected] for more information!
  4. You can simply tell someone about us. Share our social media posts. Tell a friend who’s moving or cleaning out a room. Tell your co-workers. Help us spread the word so we can collect more donations and help more people.

Every item donated to us will support our mission. We carefully sort and select furniture to determine which will be best for our clients’ homes, and which is best in the thrift store. When we deliver furniture, we typically serve neighbors who live in small spaces, so a giant sectional sofa or a large dining room set or china cabinet won’t typically fit in their space. When we sell the items you donate, the sales proceeds will go to the furniture bank to continue to expand our mission and bless even more people! Your donations help multiply the households we can serve.

There are many non-profits doing wonderful work in our community. Donating to New Life Furniture Bank means supporting Cincinnati’s only furniture bank.

Special thanks to these organizations for their support
