Do You Need Furniture?
Why A Furniture Bank? It Takes A Village!
Furniture banks give furniture to families in need through partnership with social service agencies providing direct client-facing services. This approach helps verify need, limits unnecessary duplication of services, reduces administrative expenses, and works collaboratively to solve a basic human need at the community level for individuals, children, and families overcoming homelessness, poverty, domestic abuse, and other devastating circumstances.
Families are 3 times more likely to return to homelessness if not provided with basic and essential furnishings like a bed to sleep on…..a table to eat at….a sofa to gather. An individual or a family moving into a completely vacant apartment is not likely to want to stay there when they have nothing.
