Cincinnati based Slim Furniture Company (www.slimfurniture.com), makers of high quality, modular furniture with built-in storage, recently donated 150 new chairs to New Life Furniture Bank!
We are incredibly grateful for their generosity, which will help us as we strive to fully furnish 1,000 homes of families and individuals in our area. Reffered to us by local case workers at over 26 partner agencies, the recipients of this furniture are typically transitioning out of homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, and other difficult situations that leave Cincinnatians moving into a new apartment or house with nothing but a floor to sleep and eat on when they move in.
The Slim Furniture chairs are particularly well-suited to serving those whose homes we furnish, as the chairs are easily assembled in just minutes with no tools and their configuration allows them to be combines to make an armless couch or a child’s bed. Each piece also incorporates storage space and the furniture is designed to be knocked down and reassembled repeatedly and the covers are made of a washable microfiber — making them very practical for moving and very versatile when working with small apartments/rooms.
The staff and management of both Slim’s Furniture and New Life Furniture Bank teamed up to load our trucks last Tuesday and get the furniture unloaded at our warehouse.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to the founders of Slim Furniture, Mike Blair and Woodrow Plunkett as well as their staff and management team for their generosity and hands-on help.
