Volunteer with Us!
New Life Furniture Bank relies on the help of hundreds of local volunteers to get furniture organized and delivered to those who are living in empty spaces. If you live in the Greater Cincinnati area and are passionate about helping people in need, consider joining our team of dedicated volunteers! Let’s have some fun and help our neighbors who are starting over.
How To Get Involved!
There are several ways to volunteer your time with New Life Furniture Bank.
Organize Household Goods
Volunteer in our warehouse by sorting and packing housewares items like dishes, cups, cookware and linens, so they are ready to get loaded onto our trucks and delivered to people in our community.
We can organize a 2-3 hour private volunteer event for your work, school or social group. Organizing and packing housewares is a great team-building activity!
Consider us when looking for rewarding ways to fulfill your community service hour requirements for school and clubs.
We welcome kids of all ages 10+ to our warehouse. Parents/guardians–you’re the best judge of your kids’ capacity to work at our warehouse for a couple hours. Parent supervision is required.
Assemble Tables in our Woodshop
We have a woodshop in our warehouse for building essential kitchen tables and end tables. Our expert carpenters from the Cincinnati Woodworking Club lead table building sessions for volunteer groups.
Join us! Gather your corporate work group, friends or family to help us assemble tables. No experience required. Our woodworking leaders will work alongside you or your group.
We are now partnering with local organization, Scrap 2 Home, whose mission is to turn scrap lumber into furniture for people in need.
Volunteer in our Thrift Store
Sales proceeds from New Life Furniture Thrift Store furthers our mission to furnish the homes of people in need. Similar to New Life Furniture Bank, our Thrift Store is dependent on donations and we’re now accepting a larger variety of furniture and other items such as home decor, rugs, clothing & jewelry, and much more!
We need volunteers to help us sort and prepare donated items for sale. Additional duties may include moving inventory, setting up displays, assembling furniture, and styling the sales floor.
Paint Furniture in our Woodshop
Do you love to paint furniture? Once our tables are assembled, we need adults to volunteer a couple of hours to apply the final touch: a fresh coat of paint to give the tables a more finished appearance.
Join us! Gather your corporate work group, friends or family and join us! No experience required. Our woodworking leaders will work alongside you or your group.
