Help Provide a Bed for a Sleepyhead

Donate today to get kids off the floor and into a bed.

We Need YOUR Help!

One in four Cincinnatians live below the poverty line, and Cincinnati has one of the highest child poverty rates in the country. Many of these families are overcoming homelessness, domestic abuse, extreme poverty, or other devastating circumstances. All of these circumstance can lead to living in an unfurnished home, and often results in sleeping on the floor.

Sleeping on a bed is important!

For children and adults, a good night’s sleep is needed for proper cognitive and behavioral functions. Some studies have shown sleep deprivation leaves people vulnerable to attention problems, decreased cognition, delayed reactions, and mood swings. Additionally, lack of sleep has been linked to a higher risk for certain diseases and medical conditions like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other problems like impulsive behavior, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.

Dignity and hope is also restored for people who are able to sleep in warm, safe beds instead of on the cold, hard floor!

When you donate to New Life Furniture Bank, we can provide mattresses, beds, and bedding to people in need.
The latest U.S. Census Bureau Report estimates that half of ALL children under five in Cincinnati are living in poverty.
According to Healthline.com, your body needs sleep, just as it needs air and food to function at its best. During sleep, your body heals itself and restores its chemical balance. Your brain forges new thought connections and helps memory retention.
Without enough sleep, your brain and body systems won’t function normally. It can also dramatically lower your quality of life.
